About Ambassadors
Our Ambassador initiative is great for those interested in volunteering and raising dollars for Dr. Bob’s Home but don’t live in Akron. Ambassadors host events in their community that educate and celebrate the miracle that happened in Akron.
Ambassador events can range from a formal dinner or a casual breakfast to a raffle, a speaker meeting, a cake auction or Bingo for Bob. The purpose of these events is to raise awareness and/or funds for Dr. Bob’s. Any idea is a good idea!
Our purpose and love for Dr. Bob and Anne have created this “fellowship within the fellowship” and each of us have been given tremendous gifts for being willing to serve. Read our current Strategic Plan for more information on Dr. Bob’s Home initiatives and plans. This was presented at the Ambassadors Breakfast in June 2023.
Mission statement
As Ambassadors for Dr. Bob’s Home our primary purpose is to host events that educate the local community and preserve the atmosphere of acceptance at the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous where early members achieved and maintained their sobriety to support the maintenance, restoration and preservation of Dr. Bob’s Home.
Ambassador breakfast
Each year during Founder’s Day, we host a breakfast “meet and greet” where you can meet current Ambassadors, get ideas for events and see some of the events put on in the past. There is also a presentation about Dr. Bob’s Home’s goals for the upcoming year and a financial report about the operations of the Home.
